Last week, a total of $1.1 billion flowed into Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) ETFs. This marks a halt to the outflow trend that has persisted since 2026, with institutional funds once again entering virtual asset ETFs. According to BlockBeats, BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF, iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), accounted for about 80% of the inflow into Bitcoin ETFs. This influx of funds is interpreted as a change in supply and demand dynamics in the ETF market, where Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs had been under continuous outflow pressure but recorded net inflows last week. The U.S. spot ETFs serve as a pathway for institutions that do not directly hold virtual assets to gain exposure to Bitcoin and Ethereum prices. However, trading enthusiasm was not strong, and the trading volume of Bitcoin ETFs was at its second-lowest level since October 2024. While funds have flowed in, it is difficult to say that market participation has broadly expanded. According to The Block, Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs returned to net inflows after eight consecutive weeks of outflows, with a combined net inflow of $281.8 million for the two ETF groups at that time. The recent $1.1 billion inflow is larger than previous transition cases, but the slowdown in trading volume indicates a need to monitor additional supply and demand indicators.
