Anthropic, the creator of the AI Claude, could raise over $100 billion during its initial public offering, valuing the company at up to $2 trillion. This amount would surpass the record set by SpaceX, which raised $85.7 billion for a valuation of $1.77 trillion in June. Anthropic's last private valuation was $965 billion, meaning the IPO could more than double this figure in just a few months. The company filed a confidential application in June and may publish its prospectus in the coming weeks, with a possible listing this fall. Anthropic would thus outpace OpenAI, which is not targeting the markets until 2027. In July, Anthropic's annualized revenue was reported to have reached around $65 billion, up from $47 billion in May, and several investors believe it could climb between $100 billion and $120 billion by the end of the year. However, the $2 trillion valuation would represent about 20 times the expected revenue, which remains high but below some publicly traded companies in the AI sector. Anthropic has not commented on these figures, and the amounts mentioned come from anonymous sources. The publication of the prospectus will be crucial to assess the reality of this valuation.
