Bitexen Owner Kemal Cenk Erdem Arrested
The owner of the cryptocurrency platform Bitexen, Kemal Cenk Erdem, has been ordered to be arrested. Erdem was detained as part of the DynamicPay investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and was brought before a magistrate court, where he was arrested on charges of concealing the illicit source of assets. The court ruling stated that Erdem is not a direct shareholder or board member of DynamicPay, but is the husband of the company's founder, Ayşin Erdem. Additionally, connections between Bitexen and DynamicPay were highlighted, with nearly 100 million TL in two-way money movements detected. The court expressed findings related to facilitating money transfers linked to illegal gambling and laundering of assets derived from crime. In his statement before the court, Erdem denied the charges and claimed that he did not engage in any commercial activities between Bitexen and DynamicPay. In an operation conducted on August 25 as part of the investigation into DynamicPay, 13 suspects were detained and the company was seized.
