The U.S. CFTC has issued a warning that scammers are using crypto ATMs, gift cards, unfamiliar apps, and delivery services to lure victims into transferring funds. FBI data shows that losses from crypto ATM-related scams exceeded $388 million in 2025, a 58% increase from the previous year. The CFTC advises that government agencies, legitimate financial institutions, or trustworthy businesses will never ask users to transfer money via crypto ATMs, gift cards, or delivery services. If you encounter such instructions, you should immediately pause and verify independently.
