On July 27, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong stated in an interview with crypto KOL Ansem that the drop in related meme coins due to the change of the X profile picture was a misjudgment of community reaction. He described it as a wake-up call and mentioned that he would strive to express expectations more clearly in the future. Previously, the meme coin Brain gained market attention due to the launch of its native B20 token standard, which was introduced with the Base chain Beryl upgrade, and the token's name was derived from Brian Armstrong. After briefly changing his X profile picture to match the token's icon, community associations drove up trading activity. Subsequently, when Brian Armstrong changed his X profile picture again, Brain faced significant sell-offs and gradually approached zero, sparking controversy within the community.
