The federal court of Argentina has terminated the criminal prosecution of President Javier Milei, finding no evidence of a crime related to the Libra token in his actions. The case began in 2025 after Milei published a message about the cryptocurrency, which led to a sharp rise and subsequent fall in the price of the meme token. This decline triggered accusations of fraud. Among those implicated was the president's sister, Karina Milei. Judge Marcelo Martinez de Giorgi noted that Milei's actions do not indicate a fraudulent scheme, although public support may have heightened interest in launching Libra. The proceedings against American businessman Hayden Davis, who paid Karina Milei for supporting Libra, have also been dismissed. After the collapse of the meme coin, Davis's company made a profit of about 100 million dollars, while Javier Milei reportedly received 5 million dollars for promoting Libra.
