CZ: Recently, there has been a malicious spread of "FUD" by paid trolls. Traders need to take responsibility for their own decisions.
BlockBeats News, January 31st, Binance founder CZ spoke in an AMA response to recent market FUD, stating:
「'Water armies' have become a very mature industry, usually funded by competitors, and many industries use this tactic. Then someone is paid to spread false information, set the tone, or spread FUD.
It's actually very easy to distinguish who are water armies or attackers. These accounts are usually ones you have never really interacted with, don't know at all, generally have very few followers, or are newly registered accounts, and so on.
Some people have lost money, such as during the October 10th incident, or just in the last few months, and they want to find someone to blame. I think these people account for a small percentage, but their voices are particularly loud. If you are not responsible for your own actions, your own trading operations, and only blame others, it's hard to succeed in trading. You pressed the buy button, you pressed the sell button. You need to take responsibility for your own actions. The button is there, but it doesn't mean you have to press it; what others say doesn't mean you have to follow. As far as I know, I have never told anyone to buy a certain coin or to sell a certain coin. So, if someone shifts the blame to me, to Binance, or to anyone other than themselves, they really need to reflect on themselves.
There are also some people who did not lose money around October 10th, but still want to pressure me or Binance, asking us to compensate them, or forcing us to buy more Bitcoin, and so on. There are such people, I don't know how many specifically, but there are indeed some.」
