Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stated on social media that the sanctions and pressure policies imposed by successive U.S. administrations against Iran have all ended in failure, and the latest announced economic pressure actions against Iran are also doomed to fail. He recalled a series of U.S. policies targeting Iran in recent years, pointing out that 14 years ago, the U.S. claimed to impose the most severe sanctions in history against Iran, eight years ago it implemented maximum pressure, and five months ago it demanded Iran's unconditional surrender; all these policies ultimately failed. In response to U.S. President Trump announcing the most destructive economic actions ever taken against Iran, Zarif stated that this action is also bound to fail, criticizing that there has been no substantial change in U.S. policy towards Iran across different administrations, and remarked that this same script has been seen before, with only the bully changing.
