The Korea Investment Corporation (KIC), a sovereign wealth fund, has made a new investment in Circle, a stablecoin issuer. According to data from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on the 12th, KIC holds 60,443 shares of Circle as of the second quarter of 2026, with a total value of $4,098,695 (approximately 5.83 billion KRW). This is KIC's first investment in Circle. Previously, KIC had invested in five cryptocurrency-related companies: Stratech, Coinbase, Block, Robinhood, and Riot Platforms. In the second quarter of 2026, KIC reduced its holdings in Stratech, Coinbase, and Riot while increasing its holdings in Block and Robinhood. As a result, the total value of its holdings decreased. The changes in stock holdings for the first and second quarters of 2026 are as follows: Stratech: $10,609,373 (1.51 billion KRW) → $7,167,726 (1.03 billion KRW) [32% decrease], Coinbase: $52,988,897 (7.55 billion KRW) → $36,932,205 (526 million KRW) [30% decrease], Block: $17,245,903 (2.46 billion KRW) → $27,342,672 (389 million KRW) [58% increase], Robinhood: $45,875,075 (653 million KRW) → $87,957,092 (1.25 billion KRW) [92% increase], Riot: $4,946,151 (70 million KRW) → $8,420,418 (120 million KRW) [70% increase], Total: $131,665,399 (18.75 billion KRW) → $167,818,133 (23.90 billion KRW) [27% increase].
