Prime Minister Demands Kyiv Resolve Transport Collapse

By: delo.ua|2026/09/08 04:45:16

Prime Minister Sergey Koretsky instructed the authorities in Kyiv to make changes to the operation of the metro during air alerts. He convened an emergency meeting due to traffic jams and crowds at public transport stops. Koretsky noted that it is necessary to ensure the proper functioning of the metro so that people can get home, and there should be no grounds for delays. On September 3, the Cabinet of Ministers made decisions to adapt operations to the new tactics of Russian air attacks, introducing two levels of alert: "yellow" and "red." The Prime Minister recommended ensuring full metro operation at the "yellow" level. On September 7, Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced that transport changes would take effect from September 10. At the "yellow" threat level, the Syrets-Pechersk line will operate without restrictions. At the "red" level, the green line will run between the "Syrets" and "Vydubychi" stations, while the Svyatoshyn-Brovarsky line will operate in a limited mode. Ground transport will continue to operate without restrictions, and an additional bus route duplicating the red metro line has also been organized.
