Ripple Dollar Market Cap Exceeds $2 Billion, XRP Ledger Issuance Surpasses $1 Billion
The market capitalization of Ripple's stablecoin, Ripple Dollar (RLUSD), has surpassed $2 billion, and the issuance on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) has also exceeded $1 billion. The Senior Vice President in charge of Ripple's stablecoin revealed in the independent proof report for July that Ripple Dollar has exceeded $2 billion this month and that more than $1 billion has been issued on the XRP Ledger. Ripple Dollar is backed by dollar deposits, U.S. Treasury bonds, and cash-equivalent assets, designed to maintain a value of $1 per token. Ripple is investing in Giro and Liquido to expand the digital capital market infrastructure based on the XRP Ledger and is also linking Ripple Dollar to the institutional lending sector. The deposited assets of Ripple Dollar on Bybit have exceeded $50 million in just 11 days, and Ripple is collaborating with Clearpool and Cicada Credit to build lending services based on the XRP Ledger. The expansion of Ripple Dollar issuance does not necessarily indicate the direction of XRP prices, and actual usage must consider the transaction amounts, changes in holders, and redemption scales together.
