Shiba Inu Addresses Exceed 1.8 Million, Discrepancy with Unique Holders
The number of Shiba Inu (SHIB) holding addresses has surpassed 1.8 million when combining Ethereum (ETH) and Shibarium. This figure represents the total of SHIB-related addresses on both Ethereum and Shibarium, and there may be a discrepancy with the actual number of unique holders. A member of the Shiba Inu community, Mazrael, stated on X that "even just combining Ethereum and Shibarium exceeds 1.8 million." The 'ShibWallet' screen presented by Mazrael showed 1.84 million holding addresses. However, the reference date for this figure, the method of calculation, and whether there are duplicate addresses have not been disclosed. According to Etherscan, the number of holders of the SHIB Ethereum token contract is 1,677,998, which is a count based on a specific token contract and is difficult to directly compare with Shibarium addresses. Shibarium is a Layer 2 scaling network for Ethereum, designed to improve transaction fees and processing speeds. The Shiba Inu team has stated that over 2 million wallet addresses have been activated on Shibarium, but it has not been confirmed whether this count is the same as the number of SHIB holders. The number of addresses and holders are based on different aggregates, and one user can hold multiple wallets. The current figures can be seen as a reference indicating that Shiba Inu exists across both Ethereum and its own Layer 2.
