BlockBeats News, February 6th, Dr. Xiao Feng, Chairman and CEO of HashKey, recently pointed out in an article in the US news magazine "Newsweek": "The next generation 'killer app' of the crypto industry will not stay in the internal loop of crypto but must connect on-chain infrastructure to off-chain economic activities, bringing new revenue, users, and capital into the network. The key to institutional entry lies in whether the blockchain system can achieve security, compliance, predictability, and scalability in a high-risk, heavily regulated environment."

He stated that the value of blockchain is not to simply replicate Web2 on-chain. Its incremental value lies in compressing financial processes that originally relied on multiple institutions, lengthy settlement, and reconciliation into automatic settlement and execution on the same ledger, thereby reducing transaction friction, improving efficiency and capital turnover, reshaping the organizational mode of transactions, settlement, risk control, and reconciliation to be more automated, verifiable, and cost-effective. At the institutional implementation level, the industry bottleneck is shifting from "performance" to "trust and operational capability." Privacy-preserving computation, embedded compliance, auditable risk control, and bank-grade security will become the key infrastructure of the new generation. Compliance, monitoring, and risk control capabilities determine whether institutions can maintain regulatory consistency and controllability during expansion; without these capabilities, sustainable scalability will be challenging.

He concluded by stating that future competition is no longer about "who is faster" but about "who can operate stably under real-world constraints and transform on-chain capabilities into sustainable adoption and value creation."
