The South Korean government is set to announce a major energy investment project in the United States to support the country's artificial intelligence development. The potential value of the agreement exceeds $100 billion, with plans for South Korea to fund the construction of up to eight nuclear power plants and a natural gas project. This investment marks a significant advancement in the trade agreement reached between Washington and Seoul last year. Under the agreement, South Korea committed to investing $350 billion in the U.S. and additionally purchasing $100 billion worth of American energy. Previously, no projects had materialized, leading to dissatisfaction among U.S. officials. The two sides are close to finalizing two agreements, which could be announced as early as next week, although negotiations are still ongoing, and details regarding the investment and announcement timing may change.
