Trendle is testing a perpetual contract market that trades based on the indexation of online interest during its closed beta phase. This platform uses public participation data from X, Reddit, and YouTube to trade changes in interest around specific topics. Trendle has reported over $3.6 million in trading volume during the closed beta. Users take positions based on trends in popularity, sentiment, and engagement rather than outcomes. The key metric, the 'Attention Index', aggregates public participation data minute by minute to create an Engagement Index (EI), which is then converted into 'DoA'. Trendle covers a variety of topics including politics, celebrities, sports, technology, AI, and crypto. Unlike traditional prediction markets, this model calculates profits and losses based on the level of interest in a topic rather than the outcome of specific events. To address data reliability issues, Brevis is collaborating with Primus to build a verifiable attention market. Currently, the formal product conditions have not been finalized, and the trading structure is being tested in beta and invitation-based markets. The potential use of interest indicators as underlying assets for derivatives is gaining attention among domestic investors.
