Trump: Will Appeal Tariff Ruling, To Hold "Emergency Meeting" Tomorrow on Tariff Ruling
BlockBeats News, September 3rd: U.S. President Trump stated that he will appeal the tariff ruling.
Trump reiterated that global tariffs are an economic emergency and that "if the tariff war fails to win, it will trigger a chain reaction." An "emergency meeting" on the tariff ruling will be held tomorrow.
BlockBeats previously reported that on August 31st, U.S. Trade Representative Grille stated that after the tariff ruling (by a U.S. court), trade negotiations would continue.
On June 2nd, Trump again made tariff-related remarks, stating, "if the court in some way makes a ruling on tariffs that is unfavorable to us (which is not expected), then other countries will take advantage of this to hold us hostage with anti-American tariffs and use these tariffs against us, meaning the destruction of the U.S. economy!"
The U.S. International Trade Court blocked Trump's "Liberation Day" tariffs from taking effect, ruling that imposing comprehensive tariffs was beyond his authority. The Trump administration has requested the appeals court to stay this ruling and stated that "the ruling of the International Trade Court is politicized, hoping that the Supreme Court can overturn it."
