NBU Calls on Banks to Support Real Sector Enterprises
The National Bank of Ukraine has appealed to banks to support real sector enterprises affected by the deteriorating situation in the country and has provided recommendations. NBU Head Andriy Pyshny noted that Russia's attacks on infrastructure have complicated the operations of Ukrainian businesses, particularly in maritime logistics. This leads to delays in exports, worsened cash flows, and disruptions in production chains. The burden on businesses is increasing, which deteriorates their ability to service loans. The NBU recommends that financial institutions consider individual support for borrowers, monitor the financial condition of enterprises, and take into account the specifics of assessing credit risk under martial law. It is also planned to expand the liquidity of collateral for the agricultural sector. The changes will be temporary and will be in effect for one year.
