Ukraine Increased Agricultural Imports by 8% in the First Half of 2026

In January-June 2026, Ukraine imported agricultural products worth $4.704 billion, which is 8% more than in the same period last year. European Union countries accounted for more than half of the supplies, making up 54% of total imports, equivalent to $2.542 billion. Imports from Asia amounted to $812 million (17.3%), from Latin America - $379 million, and from Africa - $256 million. The largest supplier was Poland with $568 million, followed by Germany ($341 million), Turkey ($309 million), Italy ($221 million), and the Netherlands ($207 million). Fruits and berries remain one of the largest commodity groups with imports of $532 million, which is 13% more than last year. Imports of fish, crustaceans, and mollusks also increased by 13% to $501 million. Purchases of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages rose by almost 25% to $461 million, while imports of dairy products, eggs, and honey increased by 22% to $214 million. At the same time, vegetable imports decreased by 30% to $247 million. Imports of oilseed seeds and fruits grew by 6% to $276 million.
