Visa and Messi to Promote Digital Asset Payments at 175 Million Merchants
Visa is collaborating with digital asset payment infrastructure company Messi to launch a service that allows payments using existing wallet balances without a separate card. Users can utilize Bitcoin and stablecoins at Visa merchants without cashing out or transferring to other accounts. Messi plans to support digital asset payments at over 175 million merchants through its partnership with Visa. The core of this collaboration is connecting digital asset wallets to Visa's payment network, enabling users to make payments at offline and online stores through participating wallet applications. Actual transactions will utilize Visa's payment authentication information, while Messi will handle funding and conversion between digital assets. Users will not need to sell or transfer assets before making payments, and merchants will not need to install new payment equipment. Visa is expanding its business of connecting digital assets to existing payment networks, with payment processing volume expected to reach $14.2 trillion in the fiscal year 2025. Currently, over 200 companies are participating in Messi's network.
