Zcash Ironwood Upgrade Addresses Fake ZEC Risk, Aiming for 50,000 Transactions Per Second

The Ironwood upgrade of Zcash (ZEC) has addressed potential risks associated with the creation of fake notes in the Orchard pool. The development team confirmed that the source code matches the technical specifications, allowing for the transfer of assets from the Orchard to the Ironwood pool without issues, thereby alleviating concerns about fake ZEC. Valor Group aims to enhance Zcash's processing capacity to over 50,000 transactions per second with latency under one second, while maintaining the Proof-of-Work mechanism. Developers stated that the bottleneck for scalability lies not with the nodes but with the wallet's data scanning process, utilizing new architectures and optimized methods to improve user experience. The next upgrade, Tachion, will bolster Zcash's protection against quantum computing by integrating recursive zero-knowledge proofs, helping to reduce transaction sizes by more than five times and lighten the load on nodes. However, the actual effectiveness of these upgrades will depend on future implementation and testing processes.
