Ascania Energy, part of the Ascania Group, and international energy equipment manufacturer Risen Energy have signed two memorandums of cooperation in the field of solar energy and energy storage installations. These documents outline the framework for collaboration on projects in Ukraine with a total capacity of up to 100 MW of solar generation and 200 MWh of energy storage.
This was reported by Delo.ua, citing the press service of Ascania Energy.
The documents were signed on August 14 at Risen Energy's manufacturing site in China. Under the cooperation, Risen Energy will provide technologies and equipment for solar generation and energy storage. Ascania Energy will be responsible for the development and implementation of projects in Ukraine, engineering, equipment integration, and local service.
The partnership is focused on the Ukrainian market and the needs of the energy system, which continues to recover after large-scale Russian attacks on generation facilities and network infrastructure. Alongside the recovery in Ukraine, there is a growing need for new distributed capacities—generation located closer to consumers and systems that allow for the accumulation of electricity to be used when the load on the grid is higher.
The combination of solar generation and storage installations is one of the practical tools for such restructuring. Solar stations create additional local capacities, while storage systems allow for the preservation of generated electricity to be used at other times—particularly during periods of high demand or network constraints.
For Ukrainian enterprises, the development of such solutions means the opportunity to diversify energy supply sources, combining electricity from the grid with their own generation and storage. After attacks on energy infrastructure, the issue of continuity of energy supply has become not only an operational concern for businesses but also a factor in the resilience of production and investments.
According to the CEO and co-owner of Ascania Energy, Yevgeny Pyatko, it is fundamentally important for Ukraine to restore a sustainable and decentralized energy system through the rapid integration of new generating capacities and storage technologies, and cooperation with Risen Energy opens access to the necessary technological and production capabilities.
For his part, the president of Risen Energy's European division, Jerry Qin, emphasized that the partnership allows for the combination of the company's global technological expertise in solar energy and storage systems with the knowledge of the Ukrainian market and the expertise of Ascania Energy for long-term support of the transformation of the country's energy sector.
Ascania Energy operates in the Ukrainian market for electricity and natural gas supply and trading, as well as implementing projects in energy infrastructure, renewable generation, and storage systems. The company is also involved in projects for the restoration and modernization of Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
Risen Energy, founded in China, is a manufacturer of solar energy equipment and storage systems, with products represented in more than 90 countries and regions. As of the second quarter of 2026, the company's cumulative shipments of solar modules exceeded 121.4 GW, and storage systems reached 10 GWh.
Risen Energy has already supplied equipment to the Ukrainian market: the company's modules were used in 12 solar projects, including the Pokrovskaya Solar Power Plant with a capacity of 323 MW.
On August 13, ahead of the signing of the memorandums, CEO and co-owner of Ascania Energy Yevgeny Pyatko and Technical Director Yegor Yarmolenko visited Risen Energy's manufacturing site. The Ukrainian team familiarized themselves with the production and testing of solar modules and industrial storage systems considered for use in future projects in Ukraine.
The next stage of cooperation will involve determining specific projects and sites in Ukraine. The agreements also include the preparation of Ukrainian engineering teams and the development of local technical and after-sales service.
It is worth noting that it was previously reported that solar energy has for the first time provided a quarter of all electricity in the EU. In June 2026, solar power plants accounted for a record 25% of total production in the European Union, generating 52 TWh in a month.
