BlackRock: Employment Data Exceeds Expectations, Importance of CPI Increases
Jeff Rosenberg, a portfolio manager at BlackRock, stated that the U.S. job growth in August significantly exceeded expectations, highlighting the importance of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data to be released next week. Federal Reserve policymakers are considering whether to raise interest rates. He pointed out that the key factor is whether inflation is rising or not declining at a sufficiently fast pace, which will determine whether the Fed raises rates at the September meeting. If the CPI report released on September 11 continues to show improvement in inflation, Rosenberg believes the Fed will keep interest rates unchanged.
