BlockBeats News, December 30th. According to LatePost, Meta has acquired the AI application development company Butterfly Effect for billions of dollars. This is Meta's third-largest acquisition since its founding, second only to WhatsApp and ScaleAI. Before the acquisition by Meta, Manus was in the midst of a new financing round with a valuation of $20 billion. "At first, we almost doubted whether this was a fake offer," said Liu Yuan, a True Global Ventures partner and an angel investor in Butterfly Effect, referring to the extremely short negotiation process that took just over ten days.
Initially, the founding team was hesitant, but they were ultimately won over by the conditions and vision laid out by Meta's founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg and several core executives are also loyal users of Manus. After the acquisition, Butterfly Effect will continue to operate independently, with founder Xiao Hong serving as Vice President at Meta.
