On the night of August 16, Kyiv was subjected to an airstrike by Russian forces, resulting in damage to the office of the publishing house 'Nash Format' near the 'Pochaina' metro station. Several offices had parts of their walls blown out, ceilings and furniture were damaged, but no employees were harmed. The publishing team is assessing the aftermath of the attack and the extent of the damage, but they do not plan to launch a fundraising campaign for recovery. 'The best way to support 'Nash Format' is to buy our books,' the company stated. This is not the first time the publishing house has suffered from Russian strikes. On July 4, 2025, part of the facade and the book collection were damaged as a result of an attack. Full restoration of operations took a month and a half at that time. Additionally, on July 2, 2026, an attack destroyed the Denka Logistics complex, leading to the loss of around 800,000 copies of books for the publishing house BookChef. Earlier, the printing house 'Ot A do Ya' was also affected by an attack, but the enterprise continued its operations.
