Sam Price Analyzes Consumer Confidence and Inflation Expectations

By: x.com|10/24/2026 20:13:13

According to Twitter user Sam Price, the University of Michigan's Consumer Confidence Index for October is 48.0, the second lowest in history, only higher than May's 44.8. Consumers' expectations for inflation over the next year have risen to 4.7%, the highest since May. Before the conflict in February, this expectation was 3.4%. Additionally, 85% of consumers believe that now is not a good time to buy a home. The combination of low consumer confidence and rising inflation expectations may prevent the Federal Reserve from easing its policies.
