UK to Transfer Storm Shadow Missile Technology to Ukraine and Support Freyja System

The United Kingdom will transfer secret technological data about Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missiles to Ukraine, enabling Ukraine to establish its own production of similar weapons. UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham announced this at the plenary session of the "Coalition of the Willing." The decision was made in response to a request from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. British and French defense companies will collaborate with Ukraine to create production capacities. The British government noted that in 2023, London became the first partner to provide Ukraine with long-range air-to-ground missiles. Additionally, the British government has called on the national defense industry to support the development of the Freyja air and missile defense system, which aims to create an alternative to American Patriot systems for intercepting ballistic targets. It was previously reported that Ukraine will jointly produce interceptors for Patriot with Raytheon, which will strengthen Ukraine's air defense system.
