Violations at Ukrainian Customs Increased by 20%
From January to July 2026, Ukrainian customs authorities recorded 6,797 cases of customs rule violations, which is 20% more compared to the same period last year. The total value of identified violations exceeded 2.7 billion UAH. In the framework of 2,803 cases, customs officers temporarily seized items related to violations worth 443 million UAH. The structure of the seized property includes: industrial goods worth 308 million UAH, food products worth 88 million UAH, vehicles worth over 42 million UAH, and currency assets worth 5 million UAH. Progress has also been recorded in imposing administrative penalties: fines totaling 19 million UAH were applied in 629 cases. The State Budget of Ukraine received 33 million UAH, taking into account reviews from previous periods. The customs authorities submitted 4,132 cases for judicial consideration regarding the initiation of customs rules, amounting to nearly 2 billion UAH. As a result of judicial proceedings, penalties in the form of confiscation of goods and fines totaling 5.9 billion UAH were imposed. In June 2026, the state budget received a record 78.1 billion UAH in customs payments, which is 37.3% more than in the same month last year.
