CMCC Global Launches Tokenized Bitcoin Funds with Tether and Bitfinex Securities
CMCC Global plans to tokenize two digital-asset funds, Crest and the Liberty Bitcoin Accumulation Fund (LBAF), using Tether's Hadron infrastructure and Bitfinex Securities under El Salvador's regulations. Crest aims to outperform Treasury-bill yields in U.S. dollars, while LBAF targets an annualized net return of 8% to 12% in Bitcoin. The tokens represent economic interests in underlying fund shares, created against corresponding shares and destroyed upon redemption. The structure includes identity checks and anti-money-laundering requirements for eligible self-custody. An institutional investor, BTCS S.A., has agreed to provide a significant allocation of Bitcoin, though the exact amount remains undisclosed. The issue price is set at 10 USD per Crest token and 0.0001 BTC per LBAF token. The success of these offerings could demonstrate how blockchain settlement integrates into regulated fund management.
