Ukraine Strengthens Control Over Water Supply and Tariffs
The National Commission for Regulation in the Spheres of Energy and Utilities has approved a new Instruction for Monitoring Water Supply and Wastewater Disposal. The document aims to ensure transparency in tariffs, quality of services, and the handling of consumer complaints. Monitoring will allow the regulator to assess the state of the sector, track trends, and identify risks. During the monitoring process, the transparency of enterprises' activities, consumer appeals, service tariffs, implementation of investment programs, reliability of service provision, and compliance with legislation will be checked. The regulator will use reports from enterprises, data from government authorities, citizen appeals, and information from open sources. The results of the analysis will serve as the basis for verifying the correctness of tariff establishment. The decision comes into effect from the day of its publication and will remain in force during the martial law and for 12 months after its termination.
